Track bed renovation & track cleaning

The ballast bed on which railway tracks are laid requires attention, as rainwater must be able to flow away into the substructure at all times. The ballast needs its edges and intermediate spaces in order to be able to fulfil its function properly. At some time, the old round-edged ballast must be replaced by new sharp-edged stones.

Usually, the ballast spoil between the sleepers can only be removed by hand due to the restricted space. The suction excavator is the fast alternative to expensive manual labour. With its powerful air blast, ballast is sucked out effortlessly and quickly even from the tightest intermediate spaces. The material is stored temporarily in the collecting chamber and can be cleaned or disposed of later without any problems.

Track bed cleaning

Transport companies and railway administrators place great importance on clean stations and sections of track. Newspapers, plastic cups, cigarettes etc. carelessly thrown away by passengers are not only an unattractive embellishment, but also a serious hazard if unfortunate circumstances should coincide. The grinding particles produced during the grinding of the rail head which is required at regular intervals must also be removed from the fixed track.

The combination of a suction excavator and road/rail technology enables the contaminated areas to be cleaned quickly and efficiently.
